In Illustration #1 above, the first chord in "Ode To Joy" is the 2-note C chord, which starts on C3. The C4 in the green circle is Middle C, which places the chord lower, or to the left of middle C.
Illustration #2 above, the second chord in "Ode To Joy" is the 2-note G chord, which starts on the B key below C3. As in the first illustration, the G chord is lower, or to the left of middle C.
If you're new to YouTube, it's a good idea to familiarize yourself with the two icons I have marked with arrows below. The "Enlarge Screen" icon should be used all the time, and the "Playback Speed" icon should be used if you need to slow down the tempo of video.
Ode To Joy - L.H. Chords
In this video, you will learn how to switch from the 2-note C chord to the 2-note G chord. Both chords share the same note, (the G), which means that all you have to do is move your left hand pinky, (5th finger), between the C3 key and the B key directly below it.
Take your time learning these two chords. Spend at least 5 minutes a day playing through these left hand chords. Move on to Lesson #3 when you feel that you've mastered these two chords. (Watch Video).
